Comprehensive Bodywork Session $65
The first session includes a free 30-minute initial assessment of your horse's history, as well as static and dynamic observations. This session also includes 60 minutes of hands-on bodywork. Each session consists of full-body sports massage, stretching, a BEMER session, as well as any other modalities your horse needs. Each session is completely tailored to each individual horse. I may provide you with exercises or equine massage techniques for you to work on between sessions.
All subsequent sessions will include a shorter observation period before the 60-minute bodywork session. All following maintenance sessions are $60. It is important to note that while one Bodywork session usually does promote immediate change, regular maintenance sessions are detrimental to effective and positive change. I will usually recommend a follow-up somewhere between 4-8 weeks depending on the horse and their needs. You will receive a SOAP chart detailing my findings, work done, and changes made.
BEMER Session (10-15min) $30 OR package of 4 $100
BEMER uses their patented Pulsed Electromagnetic Frequency to improve microcirculation and vasomotion. This promotes the flow of nutrients and oxygen to the muscles and eliminates waste products. The use of BEMER reduces pain and tension, promotes relaxation and suppleness, supports recovery, and enhances performance and endurance. BEMER is always included in a bodywork session or you can opt for a BEMER-only session. Package can be used on multiple horses or on one horse between multiple occasions(mileage fee will apply unless done at an event.)
Kinesiology Taping (Included in Bodywork Session OR Tape Only Session $45)
Kinesiology tape is a stretchy, breathable tape designed to support the body while allowing full range of motion. Its decompression technique reduces pain, increases lymph and blood flow, supports joints, enhances proprioception, improves recovery, and reduces tension. I utilize this ''magic'' tool very frequently.
ACTIVet PRO LaserShower (Included in Bodywork Session OR $45 Laser Only Session)
The ACTIVet PRO LaserShower unit is a 200W Super Pulsed laser that delivers photons to tissue to very effectively reduce pain and accelerate healing. The Multi Radiance Cascading Energy Effect allows for deeper penetration and enhanced absorption of light energy without the harmful thermal effects that other lasers have. The Laser Shower is the only unit on the market that delivers light energy at a billionth-of-a-second, strongly reducing pain and increasing circulation. This unit proves to be an absolute necessity in Equine Therapy. This powerful laser is a perfect addition to massage but is also extremely effective in recovery from injury.
At SPF Equine Bodywork, I also utilize balance pads to improve posture that can lead to muscle and joint weakness and to improve proprioception. I also use several different Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization tools such as a Graston, Muscle/Fascia cups, and a Hypervolt.
I frequently will use essential oils to enhance the effects of a bodywork session and might suggest an owner utilize a certain mix for their horse.
My methods are designed to effectively alleviate muscle tension, reduce stress, promote better circulation, and ultimately promote overall well-being to enhance athletic performance. Everything I utilize is research backed.
